Aleksandar Acev

Born in Zagreb, studied contemporary mime at the Moving Academy for Performing Arts (MAPA) in Amsterdam. During the 1980s, he worked as a performer mostly in former Yugoslavia, but also in Germany, France and the Netherlands. Since the beginning of the 90s, he works as director and author, directs academy performances and develops projects, which, in addition to working on the artistic goals, foster the life- and social abilities of the participants (e.g. the UNESCO theatre project for refugee children of the Balkans or an education project of the Berlin Philharmony). In addtion to his work at the mime centrum, Acev teaches "Body language and Movement Technique for Actors" at the Anton-Bruckner-Universität in Linz. He ist teaching staff for movement at the Alanus Hochschule für Kunst und Gesellschaft in Alfter near Bonn, at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst „Ernst Busch" Berlin (Puppetry), at the Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler" Berlin und an der Universität der Künste in Berlin (Stage presence for singer).
